The UPSRTC fare calculator helps you estimate bus fare before booking. Simply select your origin, destination, and bus type — and you get an instant fare estimate. Because fares vary by bus category, this tool shows you all options in one place so you can pick the right one for your budget.
UPSRTC operates six bus categories across hundreds of routes. Therefore, knowing the approximate fare in advance helps you plan better and avoid surprises at the counter.
How to Use the UPSRTC Fare Calculator
Using this tool is straightforward. First, select your departure city from the origin dropdown. Then choose your destination. Finally, click the bus type that matches your preference and hit Calculate Fare.
The result shows your estimated fare, the fare with convenience charges (for third-party apps), and the distance in kilometres. Moreover, if you travel on Ordinary or Janrath buses, the student concession range also appears automatically.

Estimate bus fare by route and bus type — instantly
Fares are estimates based on UPSRTC rate per km. Actual fares may vary slightly by route, season, and booking platform. Always confirm on onlineupsrtc.co.in before travel.
UPSRTC Bus Fare — What Affects the Price
UPSRTC calculates fare based on distance and bus category. Consequently, the same route costs differently depending on whether you travel Ordinary or Volvo. The base rate per kilometre ranges from ₹0.52 for Ordinary buses to ₹1.65 for AC Sleeper.
Besides the base fare, third-party platforms like RedBus and MakeMyTrip add a convenience fee of around 4%. Therefore, booking directly on onlineupsrtc.co.in always gives you the lowest price.
UPSRTC Fare by Bus Type
Each bus type serves a different travel need. As a result, choosing the right category matters both for comfort and cost.
- Ordinary (Non-AC): Lowest fare. Best for short trips and budget travel.
- Janrath AC: Moderate fare. Ideal for daily inter-city commuters.
- Shatabdi AC: Mid-range. Good for 3–5 hour journeys with fewer stops.
- Volvo / Scania: Higher fare. Worth it for routes over 5 hours.
- AC Sleeper: Premium fare. Best value for overnight journeys.
Furthermore, student and Divyang concessions reduce fare significantly on Ordinary and Janrath buses. So if you hold a valid concession pass, your actual cost is much lower than the standard estimate.
Book at the Right Place to Save More
Now that you have your fare estimate, the next step is booking. UPSRTC tickets are available on the official UPSRTC portal, the UP-RAAHI app, and third-party platforms. However, the official portal offers the lowest fares since no convenience fee applies.
Additionally, for cancellations, tickets booked on the official portal follow the standard UPSRTC cancellation policy. Third-party platforms may have different refund timelines.
