UPSRTC Refund Policy — Cancellation Charges at a Glance
Under UPSRTC Refund Policy & Cancellation Policy, UPSRTC deducts a cancellation charge based on how far in advance you cancel before the scheduled departure. The earlier you cancel, the more you recover.

How to Check UPSRTC Refund Status
- Go to onlineupsrtc.co.in and log in.
- Navigate to My Bookings → Cancelled Tickets.
- Select the cancelled ticket to view its refund status.
- The status will show: Refund Initiated, Refund Processed, or Pending.
Alternatively, check your bank account or UPI app transaction history — UPSRTC refunds appear with the description UPSRTC REFUND or the original merchant name.
What to Do If Refund Is Delayed Beyond 7 Days
- Collect your cancellation reference number from the portal.
- Note the original transaction ID from your payment app.
- Call the UPSRTC helpline and provide both numbers.
- If unresolved in 48 hours, raise a dispute with your bank citing the cancellation reference.
Refund for Tickets Booked via RedBus or MakeMyTrip
If you booked through a third-party platform, the refund goes back to that platform — not directly from UPSRTC. Contact RedBus or MakeMyTrip support for refund status. UPSRTC does not process third-party refunds directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel a UPSRTC ticket booked at a counter?
Yes, but only at the same counter or the originating bus stand. Counter-booked tickets cannot be cancelled online.
What if the bus was cancelled by UPSRTC?
If UPSRTC cancels a trip due to breakdown or operational reasons, you receive a full 100% refund with no deduction.
Does UPSRTC refund the Yatra Insurance amount?
No. The optional travel insurance premium is non-refundable once the policy is issued.
